John McCain and Hillary Clinton win Florida Primaries

John McCain won a big victory yesterday in Florida. Only registered Republicans were allowed to vote in the Florida primary and by winning the contest McCain cemented himself as the clear frontrunner going into Super Tuesday. Mitt Romney came in second despite spending an estimated 30 million on advertising in the state which was 5 times was McCain spent. Rudy Giuliani came in a disappointing third. Mike Huckabee came in fourth and Ron Paul came in 5th.

On the Democratic site Hillary coasted to an easy victory receiving almost 300,000 more votes than Barack Obama. John Edwards came in third again. Even though on the Democratic side it was only considered a Beauty contest since no delegates were awarded, Hillary came out as the pageant queen as her campaign is using the victory to downplay Obama's lopsided victory in South Carolina.

On the Democratic side John Edwards isleaving the race and not endorsing any of the other Democratic candidates and on the Republican side Rudy Giuliani is leaving the race and is planning on endorsing John McCain.

Ya'll need to get someone else to run. I don't like Romney or McCain.
If I had to pick one, I guess it would be romney since he'd be good
with the economy.

Hillary is not going to have an easy time disposing of Obama. He has
real support and has the money to go long term in the race to the
convention

Mccain seemed really cranky in the debate last night. I think he'll
lose his temper too much as President.

Romeny won the debate last night but people like McCain better. His
given the benefit of the doubt.

If people think such as small percentage of people are deciding who
are candidates will be you need to get out tovote.

Hej, jag tycker personligen att obama är en bra kandidat för den
amrikanska presidenten!

I think McCain can beat any of the Dems, so come one Republicans!
Let's rally aroung our guy! Mac is back!!!

I hate the whole primary process...there is a very smal % of
Americans determining who our President will be.

Posted by Sam_LeFever on 1/31/2008 12:58:21 AM
I'm not happy with any of the republican options. Who else can we
draft? Newt?

Posted by frito544 on 1/31/2008 12:57:25 AM
The Govern-ator needs to run. Him and McCain would be an un-beatable
ticket.

Posted by Megan on 1/31/2008 12:56:34 AM
I think Mccain is too old.

Who cars if there was a scandal or 2?!! ALL Presidency's have a few
scandals!!! At least Clinton gave us a balanced budget!

Posted by Jim on 1/31/2008 12:14:12 AM
Do we want another Co-Presidency here with the Clinton's again. It
was scandal ridden with all the Lewinsky and Linda Tripp nonsense. i
do not want to go back to that.

Posted by Sam on 1/31/2008 12:08:53 AM
John Edwards won the last Democratic debate but no one seemed to
care. He tried his best to get media attention but Hillary and Obama
get all the media.

Schwarzenegger is a good man. It would be great if he could run for
President by I understand the reasons in the constitution for only
allowing American born people to run for President.

Posted by Joe on 1/30/2008 11:42:12 PM
Huckabee really impresses me in these debates. He is funny and seems
to answer the questions honestly and he has the executive experience
by being Governor for 10 years.

McCain put his reputationon the line on supporting the surge and the
war. Romney needs to back off on the war as it does not help him. He
needs to concentrate on economic issues as that is his strongest
issue.

It is kind of amazing how candidates form both parties are invoking
the Reagan name today 20 years after he left office. I understand the
Republican debate was at the Reagan library but they were fawning
over him.

Hillary has to worry about John Edwards endorsing Barack Obama as
that could help Obama defeat Clinton. he has not yet but he could be
waiting until the eve of Super Tuesday to make his intentions known.
