Breaking Story: Mitt Romney Quits Republican race.

Mitt Romney quit his bid for the Republican nomination in a speech at the Conservative Political Action this afternoon. Romney was trounced by Sen. John McCain in the 24-state primary on Tuesday after pouring tens of millions of his personal fortune into the race. Romney also secured the support of pundit royalty from Sean Hannity to Ann Coulter to Rush Limbaugh. Talk Radio personality Laura Ingraham, at the CPAC conference as a "footsoldier in the Reagan Revolution" who "knows a Reaganite when she sees one," introduced Mitt Romney to eager crowd, but not before taking jabs at Hillary Clinton and the media.

After outlining his his vision for America and challenges facing the next president of the states, relying heavily on proven conservative applause lines. Romney then told the crowd that, for the sake of party unity, he intends to suspend his presidential campaign. "If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and frankly I'd be making it easier for Senator Clinton or Obama to win," Romney said. "And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror." The feel of the room immediately changed, the crowd letting out a collective groan at Romney's exit, and Romney, in a moment sheer sincerity said, "You guys are great." A few more moments of well wishes and he was off, handing the nomination to Sen. John McCain.

Drat, drat, drat. Mitt Romney was the only thing worth going to the
polls for - the rest are just cookie cutter mush like the only
choices we have had since Reagan. It's just not worth voting any more
- politics is all vanilla, and no one stands out from the crowd. All
the current candidates think we should give our social security to
aliens and no one has an original thought. Rats again!! I won't vote
in November and I believe in voting, but my patriotism was just
busted again.

Huckabee looks pretty fit right now. He is good musician and he is
witty. The similarities to Bill Clinton is frightening.

Huckabee is the same dirty guy as Clinton, and no one even want to
see this fat pig on TV anymore. He doesn't even knoe how to manage
his own obesity, how could he run the country. He is the same one as
the Clintons, dirty, dirty, dirty....NO MORE ARKANSAS, WE HAD ENOUGH
ARKAKSAS!!!

Please remember that Huckabee was Jim Tucker's lieutenant from
1993-1996 when Clinton moved into the White House. Jim Tucker was a
life long Democrats and charged for corruption on White Water scandal
***ociated with the Clintons. Tucker was sentenced and went to jail.
After Tucker was jailed, Huckabee became the Governor of Arkansas.
How can we believe that Huckabee is a Republican since he was Jim
Tucker's lieutenant.

Wait... I just noticed the last sentance of this article. People,
DO NOT BELIEVE IT! I heard no such thing from Mitt Romney. In fact,
I believe that Romney will ultimately support Huckabee in order to
put a true conservative in the White House. I would bet that the
Romney camp knows that John McCain sent his delegates to Huckabee in
WV to spite Romney. I would also bet that they know that Huckabee in
NO WAY solicited these votes. (Granted, he didn't get a stick and
beat them away, but who would?) Turnabout is fair play, and Gov.
Romney should return the favor. Gov. Romney, this is your chance to
follow through on your promise today to "continue to fight for the
conservative cause" (paraphrased). You can help conservatism by
releasing your delegates and encouraging them to vote for Huckabee at
the RNC. With your support, we will have a CONSERVATIVE Republican
in the White House, and liberalism will have suffered a true defeat.

I will not vote for McCain or Huckabee. I will vote for Obama. As far
as McCain is concerned...do you really want someone as angry and
arrogant as him with his finger on the red button??? And
Huckabee..***e on....he is Jimmy Carter all over again. And I
remember those years...I bought my first house then at 17%interest
rate. At least Obama is willing to include THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA.
Maybe if he does that we can at the very least guide him. Republician
conservatism as we know it is now gone...so lets just wait it out for
four years and pray we emerge with enough sense to then beg Mitt
Romney to step in and save us. Mind you we'll probably loose our
homes, jobs and sanity because our economy just might not make it
through!!!

ALL ROMNEY SUPPORTERS: Please contact your candidate and plead with
him to put his support and delegates behind Mike Huckabee. We must
avoid a McCain run at the White House at any costs! Please do not
be concerned about "electability"! Either Clinton or Obama will be
beaten by ANY republican candidate that we put forward. Please,
please help make sure that it is NOT MCCAIN! The ball is in your
court! PS. Huckabee's "mormon comment" was taken out of
context. He simply asked a question because he was not very
knowledgable about the mormon faith. He has since appologized. The
truth is that Huckabee is experiencing the same type of bigotry
against him that Romney did. It is time to join together and DEFEAT
JOHN MCCAIN!

I agree that the Mormon remark was very damaging to Romney in the
Bible belt. It was a low thing to do and even though he apologized
the damage had been done.
