Dobdon: Huckabee is the Only "Pro-Family" Candidate Left In Race

James Dobson, one of the country's most prominent evangelical leaders, endorsed Mike Huckabee in a statement released last night, saying he could not "in good conscience" cast a vote for Sen. John McCain.

Dobson explained how he came to the decision; Huckabee, a former pastor who became governor of Arkansas with strong "pro-family" bona fides, is the only other person left in the race.

We guess Dobson doesn't have the same sort of strategy and communicaitions people he once had working for him; this reads less like an statement of support and more like a memo on the state of the race.

Not exactly a resounding endorsement, but certainly Huck appreciates it nonetheless.

Hi, Jim!

Lets all go back 12 years ago. The reason for tax hikes was due to
irresponsible Republican spending that left us with a Nat'l debt.
Without the TAX hike, our country would be defunct, poorer than ever,
and under control by the very terrorist whom attacked us with our
current sitting President. The Bush family is loud with violence,
threats, and tyrancy. They all lack the verbatum skills and
diplomatic experience to take pro-active actions. Our current
Administration is killing our loved ones, and their condolecence is
the same gar-batum, we feel for their families. YOU Republicans dug
your own trench now get in it and deal with it.

What about Ron Paul??? He actually has a plan to limit and lower the
number of abortions. Huck is running just like G.W.B did, saying "Im
against them." but whats has George W done to stop or lower them???
Whats Huck's plab?? Ron Paul is still in this! Yuck on the Huck!

The top tax rate under Reagan/Bush was 28% until Clinton raised it in
1993 to 39%. That is why we cannot have a democrat in the White House.

I like the idea of not paying more than 23% tax. I think it is crazy
that corporate and federal income tax rate are over 35%.

I think Huckabee is the best polished of the republican candidates.
He actually ran a state government so knows how to be an executive.

If people would give him a chance and listen to what he has to say
for themselves istead of listening to the rumors they might see for
themselves that he is a good person with the interest of the American
people at heart. I heard the comment about changing the consitution.
He actually said it is easier to change the constitution to fit what
the Bible says, not vice versa. I really don't see how putting God
back in our nation is such a bad thing, you see where taking him out
has gotten us. He never said that he had plans of doing so. But if
you look past the religious points, he has excellent ideas. He and
Ron Paul are the only ones talking real "change". The rest are the
same ones that have been doing the same thing over and over. I think
it is sad the media puts the candidates against each other so they
can get publicity. I think Huckabee/Romney would have or would be a
great ticket for REAL CHANGE. And I think they would have the best
bet of knocking out McCain and the dems.

Can we keep the comments to issues and rise above name calling?
People of faith=bigots trying to create a theocracy is so worn out.
Is that really all anyone has left to say? People of faith just want
a country where they are free to practice their own religion w/o
interference from the government. We don't want to force anyone
else to practice it. It is the secularists and special interest
groups who are forcing our children to learn their agendas in our
schools. Activist judges are ruling that parents don't have the
right to a "heads up" about lessons that go against their beliefs.
Did Gov. Huckabee ever institute a state religion in Arkansas?
Force people to attend services? The media wants people to see
him as only a preacher, not a governor with the only executive
experience in the Pres. race now. Give Mike a good, honest look.
Go Huckabee!

Huckabee has proven to be a great leader, look at his qualifications
as former Governor of Arkansas. Hang in there Mr. Huckabee we need a
president who cares about the American People.
