President Bush advocates opening the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge to oil exploration

President Bush advocated opening the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge to oil exploration during his news conference today. Senator Charles Schumer responded afterward that such a move will do nothing to alleviate high gasoline prices, as it will take ten years before new oil could be produced and then only reduce the price of gas by a penny a gallon. President Bush also chided the congress for blocking efforts to reduce electricity prices in the country by expanding clean, safe nuclear power production.

To all of you envirinmentalists: Go back to your B.C. cave and smoke
your pot. This country needs to keep running adequately. Hey feds, I
dont mind if you come and build a huge refinery in my own back yard.
I've got room and it will help bring down gas costs. So come on, I'll
even set up the militia to keep environmentalists away from picketing
the constructio***

People are complaining about it. The price at the pump is too high.
Please do something about it.

There is no way out. We must develop the Alaska oil region. Already
there is a pipline there. It hurts to say it to the wildlife people
that care so much about the animals. But we have to consider about
our country's future. Oil has made our life rich without it we are a
third world nation.

Save our planet and stop this exploration and development. We need to
save our wildlife and planet.

We are becoming too dependent on oil. Bring on the fuel cell, hybrid
engine and train to travel. Most of all force all homes across
America to install solar energy panels on the roofs of homes.

Jerry - you are crazy. The lose of our wildlife and environmnet
causes us to lose our planets life. Protecting the environment and
trying other forms of energy are a better solution than what you are

People should stop complaining about the wildlife and environment
being lost. Oil is important to find and develop.

I want the oil exploration but only to use it as a last measure. I
want our country to stop being dependent on oil and start using the
green technologies that are known.

Government should force the automotive industry and public to have
hybrid engines. It is a step in the right direction.

Get rid of the combustion engine and start using the technology out
there. Eventually , companies will start investing on new
technologies and developing alternative energies.
