John McCain Outlines First Term-(Part 1 of 4)

Today, John McCain detailed what he envisions achieving as President by the end of his first term in 2013.

John McCain will put the national interest ahead of partisanship to build an America that is safer, freer and more prosperous than when he was elected.

When John McCain is President, the era of the permanent campaign will end. He will work with anyone who wants to get this country moving again and will listen to any idea intended to solve our problems, not make them worse.

In forming government policy, John McCain will work with members of Congress from both parties.
John McCain's administration will set new standards for transparency and accountability.

John McCain will not leave our problems for another unluckier generation of Americans to fix after they have become even harder to solve.

John McCain also outlined his views on presidential power. The President's powers are rightly checked by the other branches of government, and John McCain will not attempt to acquire powers granted to Congress. He will exercise his veto but not subvert legislation through statements.

People want some kind of change. And McCain is not that change. Obama
is that change.

Thank God John McCain is running for president. Hopefully, he gets
elected. As for Obama I do not like some of the things in his
background but that Hillary Clinton is just horrendous. Thank God
that Hillary Clinton is out of the process.

Now that Hillary is out of the picture and Obama is who McCain is
running against start with the campaiging of this country. Get to it
folks -- on why I should allow Obama or McCain become president.

Tara obviously you are not right for America. Furthermore, Hillary is
never right for America.

Hillary will make our world be saved. I hope that people change their
mind and vote for her over Obama throughout the rest of the election.
She will do so much for America. She will spend on the poor and
needy. Hillary will pass a universal health care program that will
change America.

I do not need any of that change this and that. I want my taxes
lowered and a reduction in spending across the board by 20 percent.
Is it that hard to get from those yo yo's down Washington DC.

Posted by Mark on 5/15/2008 3:08:59 PM
Lower our taxes is what I want this candidates to talk and debate
about. Unfortunately, they are doing the opposite. Who knows what
they really discuss behind closed doors and closed sessions.

Posted by Jack on 5/15/2008 2:02:57 PM
Alex, you are right. Change nothing but reduce our taxes by half for
me.

Posted by Alex on 5/15/2008 1:26:34 PM
Change, Change, Change what ! I do not need it nor does any of the
other Americans. How stupid are they going to just vote for someone
over the change issue. Turn the economy around by lowering taxes and
stop the big spending of this country. All of those politicians like
to put togehter spending bills to spend what we make. I want to boot
them out of public office. Now I hear that McCain wants to work with
both sides which means spend. We have been shafted with those liberal
Democrats and now no one wants to stand up to them and challenge
them.

It looks like it is going to be Obama. Mccain better step up the
campaign and start attacking Obama. He is wrong for this nation.
